VOW RENEWALS
A love that only gets better.
WHY HAVE A VOW RENEWAL?
I often describe my job as an Independent Celebrant as a romantic storyteller. Couples entrust me with their love story and their journey as a couple. It is so important to me that I honour their story with my words.
A Vow Renewal is the perfect opportunity to tell your beautiful story. It allows you to celebrate your relationship, honour a special milestone and recommit to one and other.
CELEBRATE WITH THOSE CLOSEST TO YOU
Renewing your vows is a beautiful and meaningful moment in life, made even more special when shared with those who mean the most to you.
Reflecting on your wedding day often brings to mind all the loved ones you would want present for your renewed celebration - be it children, grandchildren, new friends, or those who couldn't attend the first time. Being surrounded by them makes the occasion truly incredible.
HAVE IT YOUR WAY
The wonderful thing about a Vow Renewal is the freedom it offers - there are absolutely no restrictions.
You are completely unbound by limitations of time, location, or content when planning your celebration. This means you have the option to either recreate your original Wedding Day or to plan a celebration that is completely different from your first ceremony.
The most important thing is that you honour your relationship exactly how you wish to. Your ceremony, your way.
REFLECT ON YOUR JOURNEY
Marriage is a journey—a delightful, often difficult, and emotionally rich rollercoaster. But with the right person by your side, it truly is one of the best experiences life has to offer.
Ultimately, what defines your marriage is not the hurdles you face, but how you overcome them and get through it together.
Renewing your vows allows you to honour this beautiful time spent together and to affirm your commitment for many years to come.

THE VOW RENEWAL PROCESS
-
Once you have decided that I am the perfect celebrant for you, I will send over deposit payment details and your contract so that you can lock in your date!
-
During the script writing process, I will set up a WhatsApp chat with you for us to share ideas, thoughts and inspiration! It is a great opportunity to have all of our creative ideas in one place.
I will send you a questionnaire so that I can start to create the backbone of your script. This will include your past journey, future goals and any elements you may wish to include in your ceremony.
We will then have a planning meeting either on a call or face to face to discuss your questionnaire answers and for you to ask me any questions or share ideas.
Lastly, I very much love the opportunity to meet you face to face before the big day. The great part of having a celebrant-led ceremony is that you get to know the person who is sharing your story. Establishing a relationship is so important so that you feel at ease.
-
Using all of the inspiration from our interactions, I will start to create your dream script! A few weeks before the big day, I will get in touch with you and share your script (unless you want it to be a surprise…). We will also confirm the finalised plans for the day, readings you have chosen and anything other information vital to your day.
-
Finally it is time for the big day! I will arrive at least one hour before the ceremony and set up any aspects of the ceremony that we have planned. All you need to do is enjoy this magical moment.
“We attended a wedding at the end of May where Charley was the celebrant. She was charming, warm, and engaging from start to finish. She told the bride and groom’s story beautifully, making the ceremony feel personal, heartfelt, and unique. Couldn’t recommend her enough!”

Of course! Love does not discriminate and neither do I.
-
Yes! You do not need to have your celebrant-led ceremony in a licensed venue. Therefore, you can celebrate on a beach, in the woods, at home or anywhere that means the world to you.
-
Normally around 30 minutes, however as you help shape your ceremony- it can essentially be as long or short as you like!
-
Of course! With family and friends spread all over the UK (from the Cotswolds to the Lake District), I love to travel and am always happy to go wherever your wedding takes me - including abroad.
There’s no travel charge within a 40-mile radius of Saffron Walden. Beyond this, travel is charged at £0.45 per mile.
For ceremonies more than two hours from my home, accommodation may also be required. I’ll always discuss this with you in advance so everything is clear.
For destination ceremonies travel and accommodation costs will be tailored to your plans and agreed together.
-
Yes - I absolutely love to travel and would be delighted to be part of your ceremony wherever it takes place.
As destination ceremonies involve additional time and planning, my fee will be higher than my standard rate to cover travel and accommodation. Each ceremony is quoted individually, and I’ll always provide a clear, tailored proposal.
-
Cute but classy. A fun, personable approach to ensure you have the best ceremony you could wish for.
As your celebrant, I will work with you to plan and shape your ceremony so it is exactly how you want it to be. What truly matters to me is that the ceremony is perfect for you.
-
Don’t worry - what I wear will absolutely match your aesthetic. One of the things I ask on my questionnaire is your colour scheme and overall vibe, so I can align perfectly with your wedding day. Black tie? Sorted. Colourful 70s vibe? Perfect - I’ve got the dress. If you want to double check and approve then that is fine.
-
Yes, of course. The beauty of a celebrant-led ceremony is that you can have the exact ceremony you wish.
-
Can we include children, pets or family members in our ceremony?
Definitely, the more the merrier if that is what you want!
Can we include symbolic elements in our ceremony?
Yes you can! I am happy to work with you and include symbolic, spiritual and/ or religious aspects into your ceremony if you wish. Can we include any readings, music and vows?
Definitely, I am here to guide and inspire you throughout the whole planning process so that, together, we create the perfect ceremony that includes any of these elements. -
What if the weather is not as we expected?
Do not worry, along with your venue staff and other suppliers, I will be there to ensure the ceremony is exactly how we planned. If that means, helping distributing fans or getting the guests seated as closely to the start as possible, then I will.
I will have it covered.
What if we're running late?
No worries, I only book one ceremony a day so for me it does not matter if we are early or late! What if we forget our vows?
I will always have a spare version of your vows available with me on the day. Same with readings too! What if our venue doesn't have a microphone?
If we feel a microphone is needed but not provided by the venue, then I shall provide a microphone. What happens if you cannot attend our ceremony?
I trained with the Academy of Modern Celebrancy and I am a part of The Celebrant Guild. Both are fantastic networking platforms that have allowed me to create wonderful relationships with celebrants all over the country. Therefore, on the very rare occasion that I cannot attend, I will ensure that I am replaced by someone who will deliver you the ceremony exactly as you want it. They will be given the script, directed by me and will follow it exactly as we had planned
